The small print
By engaging Bureau Jules design services and accepting a project quotation, Client agrees to the following Terms + Conditions:
Scope of Work
Each project is based on the agreed proposal quotation. Any additional work, or changes outside the original scope, may require extra time and fees, which will always be discussed, quoted and approved before additional work begins.
PROJECT COMMENCEMENT
A 50% non-refundable deposit is due upon project confirmation to secure project schedule + Bureau Jules’s initial planning, research, and commencement of work. Unless otherwise agreed, the remaining balance is due before final files are delivered, the website is launched, or ownership of the completed work is transferred.
Revisions
Projects include the number of revision rounds stated in the quotation. Any additional revisions or requests beyond the agreed scope may be charged at the applicable hourly or project rate.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing all required content, images, branding materials, and approvals in a timely manner. Delays in providing information or feedback may affect project timelines and delivery dates.
Project Delays & Suspension
Work may be paused if payments, required content, or approvals are significantly delayed. Any project deadlines will be adjusted accordingly.
Cancellation + Termination
If a project is cancelled by the Client after it has been confirmed, the deposit will not be refunded. In addition, if applicable, Client is responsible for payment for all work completed and any approved expenses incurred up to the cancellation date. Bureau Jules reserves the right to suspend or terminate a project if payments remain outstanding, required information is repeatedly delayed, or these terms are materially breached.
Ownership + Intellectual Property
Ownership of final design transfers to the client only after full payment has been received. Unless otherwise agreed, working files, editable source files, unused concepts, templates, design processes, and development assets remain the property of the designer.
Portfolio Rights
Bureau Jules reserves the right to showcase projects, including work-in-progress, drafts, screenshots, designs, visuals, and client’s name or logo in their design portfolio. Portfolio showcases may identify Client by name and display the Client’s logo, and project materials as part of such portfolio use unless otherwise agreed in writing. A link to Client website will only be included for finished projects.
Third-Party Services
Where a project relies on third-party services such as web hosting, domain registration, fonts, plugins, stock assets, or software, those services remain subject to their own terms and pricing. Bureau Jules is not responsible for interruptions, pricing changes, service outages, or policy changes made by third-party providers.
Limitation of Liability
While every effort is made to deliver high-quality work, Bureau Jules cannot be held liable for indirect losses, business interruption, lost profits, or issues arising from third-party services or client-supplied content. Clients are responsible for reviewing and approving all final work before publication, printing, or website launch.
Acceptance
Payment of the project deposit or written acceptance of a quotation constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
These Terms & Conditions apply to all quotations, proposals, and design services unless otherwise agreed in writing.
